Welcome Special Guest Author Rie McGaha!

Please join me in welcoming special guest author, Rie McGaha! Rie is here to promote her novel, CALEN and to share a bit about herself.

Sweet Summertime, Summertime by Rie McGaha

I love living here in Oklahoma. I'm a native Californian but I've lived here for so long I consider myself an Okie, and my mother was born here as was my dad's father. So I'm where I belong and love being here. The winters are short and mild; the summers are long and hot, which makes for great days on the lakes. We take the boat, drinks, food, and pile in along with a tube the size of a king-sized bed.

We spend hours taking turns on the tube, seeing how fast we can throw someone off, except for me because I'm the Nana and I ride with the baby grandkids. When everyone is tired, we find an out of the way cove, toss the anchor over and have a BBQ. Then we swim, play toss the baby, and then we're back on the boat and tube.

While most people are still in a deep freeze, our corner of Oklahoma is warm and sunny and the flowers are blooming. By April the temperatures are in the high 70's and low 80's and by May, it's summertime. The best thing is our summers last well into the fall months. We are still on the lake well into September and the early weeks of October. The weather cools but is still mild through November and we usually have a sunny Thanksgiving and Christmas even if we need sweaters by Christmas.

I can't think of a better place to live. Not only is the weather great, it's affordable to live here. Sure it's out of the way, and there's no malls, or movie theaters. But the schools are good, you can leave your doors unlocked and the keys in your car without worrying about theft. You can have California and all it's cities and beaches and people, I'm good right here.

Calen blurb:  When Calen MacLeod begins having dreams of an ethereal beauty who beckons to him, he passes it off as just having an itch he hasn't scratched in a long time. But when he leaves on a journey to find her, following the directions she's given him in his dreams, he begins to doubt his sanity. And when he finds himself high in the Mackinaw Mountains in a secret fortress with unicorns and a pink and white castle, surrounded by women, each one more beautiful than the next, it's a fantasy no man would want to wake up from. But Arianna is the only woman for Calen.

The women of the Fortress have lived in peace, hidden away from the humans who tried to annihilate them all. But now a 500-year-old demon is out to destroy the women's matriarch, Ariella, and he'll stop at nothing to complete his mission. When Calen MacLeod shows up, he throws a wrench into Damon's plans. Never let it be said Damon isn't ready for anything, but when he kidnaps Arianna and takes her to modern day San Francisco, is he ready to meet Calen, who will stop at nothing to save his ladylove?
